Toy Story Mania

The Saturday before Baylee's birthday, we threw her a little Toy Story Party with just a couple friends. It was so much fun, and since it was a party, there's a lot of pictures!

Some of the goodies the kids went home with. I think they all made out pretty well.

When each kid arrived, they got to pick out a horse that they took home with them at the end of the party. Baylee chose the black one. The kids had a lot of fun with their horses, and rode them around to the different things they did.

Baylee wanted everyone to dress up as a character from Toy Story. Here's her as Jessie (my mom and I made the costume and Payton's vest), and Payton as Woody. Ok, I know Payton's shirt is a stretch, but it is so hard to find long sleeve shirts in Arizona in July. I went to at least 5 stores just for Baylee's. Even the hat was impossible to find. This one is one of those woven straw ones that had a Sheriff star on it. I just painted it red. I think the costumes turned out pretty well though, and are more than likely going to be reused for Halloween (at least Baylee's).
Of course Baylee always poses for the camera, so here's one of her Jessie poses as she's waiting for her friends to show up.

As we were waiting for everyone to show up. the kids got to decorate Sheriff badges. They were just wooden badges that we let them color on with markers and put Toy Story stickers on. We also put out coloring pages and had them decorate their own tails for Pin The Tail on Bullseye.
The party crew. We had two Jessies, a Bo Peep, and two Andys.

After decorating, Ben had them play a game while I finished cleaning up the table and getting ready to make lunch.

The kids made their own "Pizza Planet" pizzas. It was interesting to see the toppings they chose to put on their pizzas. Connor loaded up on olives, while Ella piled on the squash.
While the pizzas were cooking we played Pin The Tail on Bullseye. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the kids, so here's that game and the one they played with Ben.

We also played a game where the kids took turns riding their horses to rescue toys. It was a pretty big hit. I love that 3-4 year olds are easy to entertain. They also loved just playing in the toy room, and a couple of them ran up there any chance they got.

After eating pizzas, Baylee opened her presents. She got some good ones!

What's a party without a pinata?

The kids didn't break it open, so we had them pull the strings. Plenty of candy for everyone!

Ben made Baylee's cake. It turned out really well! I wanted to make it, but I ran out of time. Ben's becoming quite the baker/cake maker though. Baylee wanted vanilla cake with strawberry filling and chocolate frosting.

Blowing out the candles. It worked out perfect for the kids to finish up by eating cake while their parents came to pick them up.

Our family after the party. Ben was Ken, and I was either Bo Peep or Western Barbie (I had a hard time finding a quick costume). Such a fun party! I'm excited to do another one next year (but it can definitely wait a year).

Brittany, I loved everything about this party! (This is Laura's sister). She sent me the link to see your party because my daughter is a Jessie fanatic. I am making her halloween costume already and needed ideas, so thanks for posting this! We also will probably copy your entire party for her birthday in November. You are very creative!

Thank you, you are sweet! I'm sure you can do better than I did. Mine was a little last minute and rushed, so I'm sure with more time it could be better. Have fun!
