Freedom Festival

For the 4th of July weekend, Mesa had a free Celebration of Freedom Festival. We went with our friends, the Vans, on Friday night, but got there a little late. We were trying to beat the heat, but it was still really warm even when the festival closed at 10. The kids had a ton of fun, and there was still a lot we didn't get to see so we went back on Saturday night for little more. Then we headed to my grandparents house to watch the festival's fireworks without the crowd. We loved spending the time with them, my dad, and brother, and it was so nice that they live so close to where the festival was. So here's the festival pictures:

The festival had a whole area for kids to get wet in. It was full of fun inflatable slides. This is Baylee and her boyfriend Trey waiting for their turns.

Baylee after going down one of the slides. It was pretty steep, but she loved it. The water in all the pools was pretty disgusting though.

Ok, one more of Baylee. This is one of the few that I actually got of her going down the slide.

And we have to have one of Payton. He wanted to get out and play too.

Our favorite friends, Mike and Heather, with the back of Connor's head.

Payton finally made in out of the stroller and into my arms. That boy doesn't like to feel like he's missing out. Can you tell that we were both sweating and gross?

Our little family in an old fire truck. It was pretty cool (not in a weather sense).

Right around the time the festival was shutting down on Friday night, we found this huge monster truck!

Saturday night we found the game area. Baylee won a lot of cheap little toy prizes. She was so excited about the games and the prizes she won.

Ben and Payton while I was off taking Baylee to all the games.

They had a bunch of inflatable buildings and people dressed up to take you back to when the Declaration of Independence was signed and George Washington was President. It was neat to see.

We really enjoyed the Freedom Festival. It even had a motorcycle show on Friday and car show on Saturday. There was so much to do that even going two nights there were things we missed. Maybe next year.
