Catch-Up

I am so behind! So here's an update for what we've been up to for the last week, with lots of pictures (I hope that doesn't get too annoying).

Happy Birthday Owen (or at least Birthday party):
Last Friday was cousin Owen's birthday party at Super Frank's. It's kinda like a clean Chuck E. Cheese's. This is Baylee trying to play glow-in-the-dark miniture golf, with daddy's help.Baylee has been terrified of her Uncle Ryan for quite awhile. However, a break through was made at Owen's party and she actually let Ryan hold her! It was amazing!

Saturday Clean-Up:
One of our neighbor's called the city and complained about our yard, so we have been given 10 days to fix it. So, we tried to keep daddy company while he was working on the yard, but it's hard when you have a one year old who wants to "help" with the cleanup. We came inside for a minute, and Baylee made her own mess instead. But, at least she was fashionable in her sunglasses and shoes with her footed p.j.s, right? Keep in mind she had a blast walking up and down the street dressed like this. Ben got to quit early because our friends the Millars (Evan, Brooke, and McKenzie) came to Pleasanton to visit us. We went to lunch at Red Robin and then walked to Downtown Pleasanton for ice cream from the dairy, which we ate in the park. Then we just hung out at Ben's parents for a little bit. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures, which is sad becuase Baylee and McKenzie played so cute together! It was fun to see them.Later Saturday night, Ben's parents took us out to The Cheesecake Factory. It was quite a long dinner, as service was slow...but the food and company were great! Here's Baylee with Grandma Hall.

Happy Birthday (for real this time) to Owen:
On Monday we went to Red Robin (again) for Owen's real birthday. Shelby let Baylee have some of her mac & cheese and she loved it! Can you tell? What a mess!

Daddy surprised us:
Baylee and I got a nice surprise yesterday around 3. Ben came home early! We weren't expecting him to be home until 9, but sure enough he showed up at 3, with a hungry tummy. So, we ran to In 'n Out, and Baylee loved the milkshake her daddy got.

The A's Won: Today we went to the A's game with cousin Garrett and Uncle Ryan. Baylee thought she was such a big girl sitting in a chair all by herself by cousin Garrett! She loves playing with him.
Baylee is such a good cheerleader, and had fun dancing during the game, even on her chair.
I have to show proof that Ben came with us. Although I'm not sure what is going on with this picture. Garrett took it, and I don't know what Ben is trying to do.....

What a Stud!

Ben is so awesome! Yesterday he, along with his brother Mike and Mike's brother-in-law Glen, did a triathlon. It was called Tri For Fun, since it wasn't really a competitive-one just one for fun, and consisted of a 400 yard swim, 11 mile bike ride, and 3 mile run. After only sleeping for a few hours (Baylee wouldn't go to sleep until after 1 am Friday night), we left at 6:30 to go watch the three of them with Ben's dad and Laura (Mike's wife). They all did really well (and finished!)! So, here's some pictures! Ben, Mike, and Glen showing of their numbered "guns" before they started.
Baylee with her daddy before the race. Doesn't he look so hot with his swim cap on? :)
Mike, Glen, and Ben lined up waiting for the triathlon to start. They are the three right in front and center with the bright yellow swim caps on.
It was too hard for me to get anymore pictures with Baylee keeping my hands full (silly me I forgot her shoes), so I didn't get any pictures during the race or of Ben crossing the finish line. Laura got some, but I didn't get them from her... So, here is Mike, Ben, and Glen after they had all finished.
And, of course we have to through in a picture of the three of us after Ben had finished his triathlon. What a stud! I am proud of him!

Tagged!

Thanks Brooke....

1. What is the best thing you cooked last week?
I don't think I cooked anything really last week. I think we had pasta, pizza, and burritos all week. Monday and Friday we went out for dinner and Saturday we had a storemade meatloaf, so take your pick. I do like to cook, though, I just haven't done much of it lately. They are all just quick fix meals right now.

2. If money, time, and babysitting were no object where would you go and with who?
My dream vacation is Tahiti, so I would have to say there, and I would take Ben and maybe Baylee, although I would kinda worry. It'd be fun to have her there and also fun to not have her there. I'm also with Brooke, I would like to go to Hawaii again, especially to revisit where Ben and I met and be where I went to school (for a year).

3. When was the last time you cried.
I can't remember. I know I've cried but I can't think of when. I know I cried a little while ago when I got my feelings hurt becuase I'm sensitive about feeling left out of things. I honestly can't really remember.

4. What is the most played song on your ipod right now?
I don't even know where my ipod is. Ben had it last. If we go with the car, though it would be the banana pancakes song or the do you remember when song both by Jack Johnson or anything on the new Maroon 5 c.d.

5. Is there something on t.v. this week that you are more excited about than the So You Think You Can Dance finale?
Well, I don't watch So You Think You Can Dance, but there were a lot of good shows this week. The Hell's Kitchen Finale was on yesterday, The Hills started yesterday, anything else I watch....

There;s my answers, so now I get to tag Brooke Millar, Ben, Matt (since Brooke didn't), and that's it.

At Least We Got One With Personality!

So, not so much happened this weekend for us. Friday night Ben's parent's watched Baylee so Ben and I could have a date night. We don't have date night very often. I can count the times since we had Baylee on one hand. It was nice to have some time just the two of us and was much needed. We went to sushi and then played mini golf. It was fun. Saturday, we just ran errands all day and then vegged that night. Sunday we had the regular dinner with Ben's family, which is always nice. So, we had a not-so-eventful weekend. In lack of anything exicting to post, I thought I'd show a few pictures of Baylee. She sure has a little personality on her.

Baylee is in a stage where she likes to find random things and bring them to you. The other night she had some swim diapers, and for fun we stuck one on her head and she ran around like that (with another one in her hand) for a little bit. She seemed to like it. Oh, and don't look at me in this picture. I look like a weirdo.

This is just a picture of Baylee dancing. She loves to dance, and she puts her hands in the air and then bends her knees and bounces. Kinda silly!

Saturday night we got some Ben & Jerry's cones from the grocery store, which we decided to eat that night. We were trying to share with Baylee, but she wanted to hold it herself. Ben was trying to be a good dad, and so he let her hold it, and she took off with it! She wanted it all to herself, and ended up eating most of it. Ben was able to sneak a few bites. She got it all over the place-What a mess!

One of Baylee's new favorite things to do is run around carrying her clothes. She will carry them around with her for quite awhile. Sunday I was getting ready to change her into her jammies before we left Ben's parents, and she took them and just walked all over the place with them. She's a goof!

What a busy Weekend!

We had quite the busy weekend! So, I am glad to be getting this up so fast and staying caught up.

Saturday morning we went to a birthday party for our friends' Evan and Brooke's little girl, McKenzie. She turned two last week, so we went out to her Elmo themed birthday party. It was cute and a lot of fun. Then in the afternoon, Baylee and I went to Laura's (Ben's twin's wife) baby shower. After the shower we went to dinner at Red Robin with Ben's parents, Mike and Laura, Laura's mom, and Laura's sister and her husband and baby. Baylee fell asleep in the car, since she had been up since 5 a.m. with maybe an hour nap, and woke up toward the end of dinner screaming her head off and wouldn't stop. I don't know what was wrong with her (maybe she was still just so tired?). It was so sad. I took her outside and after a few minutes out there she eventually stopped. It was just really strange.

Ben and I had our 3rd anniversary yesterday (the 6th), so to celebrate we went out to San Francisco. We left Sunday afternoon, and stopped at the Aloha Festival that was going on (still in S.F.) to give us a little flashback of where we first met (we met at BYU-Hawaii in 2000). It was fun, and really made me miss Hawaii and the yummy Hawaiian food I love. The festival was a lot of fun, but a little cold and it sprinkled a little. Baylee lost the only sippy cup I had brought to San Francisco with us. When we left the Aloha Festival, we could see the Palace of Fine Arts, so we decided to stop there and get out and walk around. It is really beautiful. Ben said it was built for a World's Fair. It was amazing to look at and walk around and see all the different views of it and the landscaping surrounding it.

After those stops, we decided to head to our hotel and check in. We stayed at the Prescott Hotel right in the Union Square area. After getting checked in and relaxing for a minute, we decided to go walk around and shop a little, and then eat at The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. By the time dinner was done, we were exhausted (from both walking around so much, and dealing with a not-so-happy, tired and previously very hungry Baylee), so we walked back to the hotel and decided to call it a night.

Yesterday (Monday) our day started with a trip to the Da Vinci exhibit at The Metreon that Ben really wanted to see. It was really interesting, and they had taken sketches of things he had drawn and made them so you could see what they would be like had he made them. There were things such as parachutes, wings, a tank, a portable piano, a cannon, an eight sided mirror, different military weapons, all sorts of things. Some of his art was also displayed. It was really neat to see. After we were done, we had to head back and check out of the hotel.
Ben really wanted to drive down Lombard Street, the most crooked street in the United States. We were eventually able to find it. This is a picture of the really windy part of it, before we made it up to that part. We went down it, but it's not too exciting of a picture. It was very steep and twisted, so it was too hard to get a good picture. After Lombard, we headed down to Fisherman's Wharf. Our first stop was the Boudin Bread Factory. We took a tour in the museum and got to see them make the bread and have a taste of a few different kinds that they make. They had a really good chocolate raisin bread, which we bought along with some asiago cheese bread (which we didn't get to sample earlier). They are really good. Baylee had lost a shoe, which we discovered in the middle of the bread museum, so I got to go back and retrace our steps, and I luckily found it on a cement bench not too far away from Boudin. After the whole bread experience we decided to stop for lunch.I thought Baylee would really like The Rainforest Cafe. I thought it would be a fun place for her, and she'd really like looking around in it. I was wrong. They stuck us near the gorillas, and every time they went off she got scared and cried. We got her to calm down when the food came out, but a few minutes later the thunderstorm went off and the gorillas went wild, and she got scared again. We tried to eat fast, and then I took her down to the giftshop area and she had fun looking around, although the talking tree kinda weirded her out. So, once Ben had paid and we took some pictures, we left. After that, we just went and saw the sea lions and walked around the pier and then headed home and relaxed. Later we went to Ben's parents house so Ben could interview his dad for a homework assignment. That was our busy and exciting weekend!

Food and Sun Fun

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Hall for the cute kiddie pool! For Baylee's birthday Grandma and Grandpa Hall got her a cute little swimming pool. We took her swimming in it a couple of weeks ago and got these cute pictures of her and her daddy in it. She was a little skeptic to be in it at first, but then quickly discovered how much fun it is to splash the water. We are still working on getting her to go down the slide, though. Although there isn't too much room for her, the slide, and one of us to all be in it at the same time (the box made the pool look a lot bigger than it is).

Baylee thinks she's pretty sneaky!

I know this doesn't go with the swimming theme, but this was just too funny! Baylee knows exactly where the cookies are! After grocery shopping, we came home to put some food away, only to see Baylee climbing up in the fridge trying to grab herself some cookies and chocolate. She loves food, especially chocolate.

Happy Birthday, Garrett!
Yesterday, cousin Garrett had a party at the pool for his 4th birthday! Baylee loved being in the pool. After an hour, mom thought it might be a good idea to get out, as it was starting to cool down and it was time to go grab some dinner. We had a lot of fun, though, and she loved watching her daddy jump off the diving board. When we left the party, Baylee was pooped! What a long day! I thought it was cute how she fell asleep with her arm behind her head, resting on her sippy cup.

Garlic and Tahoe

We had a fun and busy weekend. I know this is a little behind seeing as how tomorrow starts a new weekend, but here are some pictures of what we did. I wanted to try not to get too behind before we had new pictures to put up for this coming weekend.

The Garlic Festival:
Saturday we went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival. It was fun, but extremely hot! We tried to stay in shady areas as much as we could.
We ate some Garlic Ice Cream to help us cool off. Baylee really seemed to like it, but then again she likes anything cold. It was interesting tasting. Not gross, but different.

On Sunday we drove up to Tahoe and back for one of Ben's friends wedding. They were neighbors and grew up together. We went up with Ben's parents and his brother, Mike.
Ricky and his new wife, Bonnie. They got married right on a beach in Tahoe. It was beautiful.
Baylee really liked the "sand" (it was more like really tiny rocks). She played in it during the whole ceremony and also during part of the reception. It wasn't smart of her mommy to dress her in a white shirt and light skirt and brand new shoes. She got pretty dirty. Thank goodness for baby wipes!
This is just a picture of us on the beach at the wedding. Kinda cute, except my shoes don't really go that well with my skirt. I just thought they would be better than the heels I brought in the sand.
