5 Already?

I can't believe it's already the middle of October. This year has completely flown by me, and I can't seem to catch up. I'm slowly making my way through documenting our year. So, back in July our little Baylee, who is not so little anymore, turned 5. It's so crazy that I have a 5 year old (and apparently I'm not the only one who thinks it's crazy since the other day I got asked if Baylee and I were sisters). We had a fun day celebrating her birthday with her.

Ben took the day off (so convenient when you work for yourself), and we headed to the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito. It was right by the Golden Gate Bridge. Baylee loved driving over it.

The museum had a temporary Curious George exhibit that the kids had been waiting to go see. It was basically all the places in the tv show for the kids to explore and pretend in.

Payton had a lot of fun playing in the farm area (can you see him back there?).

Baylee and Ben had a lot of fun pretending to be construction workers.

Overall, the kids really enjoyed hanging out in the Curious George exhibit. It was a lot of fun seeing the show brought to life.

Outside, Ben helped the kids build with jumbo blocks. I think Payton kept knocking everything down.

There was a really fun play area outside. While I chased Payton around and watched him kick dump trucks down a ramp, Ben followed Baylee and didn't happen to take any pictures.

Another view from the dump truck area.

Another area was Bay Hall, so of course we had to get a picture of Baylee with this sign. Somehow she managed to make it look like she has no legs.

Baylee went on a boat and caught some fish while Payton obsessed over the train area.

That night we went to dinner with Ben's family. Baylee was jealous of Ben and Payton's sombreros, so she of course had to go to Chevy's. The kids all had fun playing with dough, as you can tell from Baylee's moustache. And of course, my phone camera didn't want to take decent looking pictures.

The sombrero!

Afterwards, we headed back home and did presents and cake. Payton decided he was in charge of presents.

And Baylee decided to do another photo shoot with her cake and the number 5 that I made.

Lighting the candles with a more normal, but excited, pose and face.

Yummy Coldstone cake!

Payton was really excited for all of Baylee's presents. I think he figures since Baylee plays with his things all the time, he gets to play with hers, too.

Happy Birthday, Baylee! We are so happy to have you as our daughter. You are so fun and energetic, and we love what a good sister you can be (when you choose to be). We love you! But please stop growing so fast.
