Life On Maui

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we finally used Ben's graduation present from 3 years ago. We went to Hawaii with his parents, and one of Ben's sisters and one of his brothers and their families joined us. We wanted to go to Oahu and revisit where we first met, but we still had a blast on Maui instead. Here's a few things that we enjoyed doing while we were there (I will post about some other Maui fun later).
We had fun waking up at 5 am to catch a really early and long flight (ok, that wasn't our favorite). The kids were actually pretty good on the flight. We loved the POG (Pineapple Orange Guava) juice, cookies and macadamia nuts we got on the plane though!
The kids got up close and personal with a whale in front of the hotel we stayed in the first night.
We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, this picture being from our balcony at the Marriott resort we stayed at the rest of the week. We also really enjoyed the awesome pool that I didn't get any pictures of. It had a great kiddie pool that had a sunken ship and Payton could play in without help, except the bottom of the slide he was obsessed with. The kids even participated in a treasure hunt at the pool.
We played in the ocean. Payton didn't ever want to get out. As soon as we got out, he would head right back for the water.
The kids played a lot in the sand.
Payton either tried to eat sand or use it as a pillow.
Payton then discovered sand doesn't taste good. (I think he was actually throwing a tantrum)
Ben modeled a snorkeling mask.
Ben did actually snorkel too, and I discovered that I don't like snorkeling (wearing the mask kinda freaked me out).
Ben tried some scuba and got to see a turtle or two.
Andre broke Payton out of his extreme mommy mode and actually got him to sleep without me! Payton knows a little bit of tough love now.
We relaxed on hammocks, watched the ocean, and enjoyed family.
We ate lots of yummy food, and Ben and I actually got a date! We love kid-free meals!
Baylee and Payton modeled some local attire.
We shopped.

And most of all we had a lot of fun! I keep telling Ben that we need to move back, even if it's just for a year or two. You'd come and visit us, right?

Is that mama's fish house?? Someone at our reception found out we were going to Maui and paid for our dinner at mama's. It was one of our favorite dinners ever!
