Surprise Girls Weekend (With Payton)

Ben's sister turned 30 and wanted a surprise party. So, Ben's mom and all the sister and sister-in-laws headed to the beach in Aptos for a girls weekend. Payton had to crash the party. We had fun at one of Laura's friend's family beach house, which was so cute decked out in 60/70s decor. Friday we "surprised" Wendy, then drove to the beach house after stopping for dinner. We had cake, s'mores, and plenty of talking. Saturday we did a 2 mile walk to Starbucks for Steamers, and stopped in a store to shop and for pizza on the 2 mile (or more) walk back. We followed that with a little walk on the beach time. We had a cooking "contest" (we were all winners!), a craft, and more bonding time. Sunday morning Payton and I watched dolphins and seals swimming in the ocean before we all packed up to go home. It was a fun, relaxing weekend, but went by so fast! Here's some pictures from the weekend:

The view from the backyard. All the rooms also had this view.

Missy went all out for this! Goodie bags (which included the cutest necklaces), a pinata, water bottles with cute labels she made, and a snowball cake she also made. Kathy also had sweatshirts made for us.

Wendy, the birthday girl!

Some more of us- me, Anna, Laura, Kathy, and Payton.

Group photo in our matching sweatshirts-Wendy, Missy, Laura, Kathy, Payton, me, Jenny, and Anna.

For the cooking contest we all had to use pears. Jenny and Anna made a delicious salad and cheese spread.

Laura and I made our own version of one of my favorite sandwiches from one of my favorite places to eat in AZ.

Missy and Wendy with their yummy pear cake with ginger caramel sauce.

Missy watched Payton for me while I finished cleaning up our room on Sunday morning.

Thanks to my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law for a fun weekend! Laura and I are the next ones to turn 30 (and the last ones, but no one turns 40 before then either) in about 2 1/2 years! See you all then?
