First thing we did when we got to Disneyland was try to get into the Blue Bayou restaurant (the one in the middle of the Pirates of the Carribean ride). Since it was a little before 11:30 we got right in! The kids loved it and actually behaved very well. The kids menu folded into a cute little pirate hat! The food was really good, a little pricey, but very filling! It was such a fun little place to eat!
We went a on few rides and eventually made it into Fantasyland where all the lines were either long or broken (we had bad luck with rides being broken or breaking while we were on them...). Baylee really wanted to go on the Dumbo ride, but she settled for sitting in this one instead.
We got Baylee some Mickey ears and then headed over to Toon Town. Baylee loved Minnie's house. Minnie walked through it while we were in there, but she was in quite a hurry to get somewhere.
We also went through Mickey's house, which was a lot bigger than Minnie's. At the end the kids got to meet him! Baylee was a little freaked out about meeting the characters up close.
Also in Toon Town was a little playground where we were able to let the kids just run around and play. Baylee's favorite was of course the slide. As soon as she got down she ran around the corner to go again and again and again and again.........
While we were at the playground we noticed Minnie had reappeared to do a meet and greet. We took Baylee over and she was so excited in line! She kept pointing and saying "Minnie!", but of course, as soon as we got her up there she freaked out a little. We also met Pooh and Eeyore earlier in the day. Toontown was where the picture taking somehow stopped.Missy and the kids left us after that. We stayed and went on a few more rides and then ate at ESPN restaurant. We stayed for the fireworks and then drove to Ben's sister, Jenny's house.
Saturday we hung out with Jenny and Andre and kids. Ben worked out with Andre and Jenny and I took the kids for a walk and to play at the playground. Mike and Laura and Abigail came down and we all went for lunch, where Andre gave us a little lesson in Veitnamese food. Afterwards the girls went shopping at the outlets, except for Baylee who stayed with Ben (it was nice for me to have a break), and the boys played at Jenny and Andre's. After the girls got back the boys cooked us breakfast for dinner! It was soooo yummy!
Yesterday we were planning to go to California Adventure (we had a 2fer pass) for a few hours, but it was pouring. Ben had to finish some homework, so I got Baylee down for a nap and then went out and ran a mile on the treadmill. It was the first time I had run, or even worked out really, in about six years..... it took me a little while to finish (13:45) and I didn't have good shoes, but I was proud of myself for doing it. Later we got lunch at Boston Market (it was one of my favs when we lived in Colorado) and went to the mall to get some gifts. We stopped back at Jenny and Andre's for a little bit and then headed to Missy and Brant's for dinner. Baylee had fun playing with the kids before we left to drive back home. We did manage to get a couple more pictures, including this one:
Missy and I think it's pretty funny that Baylee and Charlie are the same size. They both weigh 22 pounds, and are almost the same height, and Charlie is about 6 months younger than Baylee. We love that they both have curly hair!We had a really fun time this weekend and wish it could have lasted longer! We are hoping that we will be able to go to Spring Training next month (that would be our next vacation), but we aren't sure yet with Ben having finals and graduating. We'll see! He's almost done!!!!!!!
Oh, yeah, and Merry Christmas to Ben and Baylee!
