Number Two Is Two!

It's been a busy summer for us, and I know I'm still quite a bit behind. Things are slowly settling down, so I'll do my best to get this blog updated.

Back in June kid #2, our baby, turned 2! We tried to make Payton's day special.

Unfortunately, the day started off with tears. I made Payton and Baylee eggs, Payton's favorite, for breakfast. He decided to be helpful, and as he went to touch the hot pan, I shouted "No", he burned his little finger a bit. It took him a little while to calm down. I'm not sure if it was me shouting or him burning his finger that hurt him more. I felt pretty bad.

Later we went to Chevy's for lunch:
We took pictures with our not so good phone cameras.

Payton got excited when he heard the singing...

...and he was still smiles as they put the sombrero on him, but it took me a while to get him to put it back on.

He looked really cute in his sombrero though!

Lucky for us, Payton isn't really a sweets lover, so we all got to share his dessert.

Payton got to lick his first beater when I made his cake. I don't know how he went two years with this being his first experience. This might be the reason he doesn't love sweets. Payton decided he didn't like having his shirt off, and stop licking his. Baylee was happy to have two.

We had Ben's family over for dinner and cake for Payton's birthday. We served a wonderful gourmet dinner of pizza and salad and potato salad. Haha. Actually, we ran out of time so we got a few Costco pizza's, but they only had pepperoni, so I took all the pepperoni off one (his parents don't eat red meat), and threw our own toppings on.

Opening presents.

Payton's new favorite outfit is this one from his cousins "Owee" and "Rett". He always mentions that they gave him the clothes every time he wears them.

Payton is obsessed with Blue's Clues, but nobody sells any of the toys anymore. We were lucky to find a Blue's Clues beanie baby that he loves. Then we had to turn around and get Baylee a Magenta one.

Payton's Toy Story car racing toy. We know it must be a good toy since he not only loves it, but it was recently "taken" and returned, which is a whole other story.

It's not a party without cake! Banana cake with whipped cream cheese frosting. Thank you Ben for cutting it out and decorating it!

Payton loved his Blue cake. In fact, he loved it so much he wouldn't eat it.

Payton played with his basketball hoop and tee ball set from Grandma and Grandpa Hall all night long instead. This kid loves sports!

We are so lucky to have this cute little boy in our family. He is so much fun and we love him to pieces. He is a great cuddle buddy, and I love how he curls up next to me to go to sleep. He loves sports and is getting really good at throwing, batting, shooting hoops, and jumping off of things. He has a great little sense of humor, and will always apologize with hugs and kisses. He willingly plays girly things with his sister, and loves lotion and hair bows. Payton loves to pretend to be dogs, cats, and monkeys. There are so many things I love about my little man, and I am excited to see him continue to grow and develop his personality.

Happy Birthday, Payton! We love you!

Oh my word. That boy is strikingly beautiful. What a hunk! I'm still bummed that I didn't get together with you guys before we moved away. I would love to meet that kid in person!

And the cake--so nice! Way to go Ben!
