Saturday morning we went to a birthday party for our friends' Evan and Brooke's little girl, McKenzie. She turned two last week, so we went out to her Elmo themed birthday party. It was cute and a lot of fun. Then in the afternoon, Baylee and I went to Laura's (Ben's twin's wife) baby shower. After the shower we went to dinner at Red Robin with Ben's parents, Mike and Laura, Laura's mom, and Laura's sister and her husband and baby. Baylee fell asleep in the car, since she had been up since 5 a.m. with maybe an hour nap, and woke up toward the end of dinner screaming her head off and wouldn't stop. I don't know what was wrong with her (maybe she was still just so tired?). It was so sad. I took her outside and after a few minutes out there she eventually stopped. It was just really strange.
Ben and I had our 3rd anniversary yesterday (the 6th), so to celebrate we went out to San Francisco. We left Sunday afternoon, and stopped at the Aloha Festival that was going on (still in S.F.) to give us a little flashback of where we first met (we met at BYU-Hawaii in 2000). It was fun, and really made me miss Hawaii and the yummy Hawaiian food I love.

After those stops, we decided to head to our hotel and check in. We stayed at the Prescott Hotel right in the Union Square area. After getting checked in and relaxing for a minute, we decided to go walk around and shop a little, and then eat at The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. By the time dinner was done, we were exhausted (from both walking around so much, and dealing with a not-so-happy, tired and previously very hungry Baylee), so we walked back to the hotel and decided to call it a night.
Yesterday (Monday) our day started with a trip to the Da Vinci exhibit at The Metreon that Ben really wanted to see. It was really interesting, and they had taken sketches of things he had drawn and made them so you could see what they would be like had he made them. There were things such as parachutes, wings, a tank, a portable piano, a cannon, an eight sided mirror, different military weapons, all sorts of things. Some of his art was also displayed. It was really neat to see. After we were done, we had to head back and check out of the hotel. Ben really wanted to drive down Lombard Street, the most crooked street in the United States. We were eventually able to find it. This is a picture of the really windy part of it, before we made it up to that part. We went down it, but it's not too exciting of a picture. It was very steep and twisted, so it was too hard to get a good picture. After Lombard, we headed down to Fisherman's Wharf. Our first stop was the Boudin Bread Factory. We took a tour in the museum and got to see them make the bread and have a taste of a few different kinds that they make. They had a really good chocolate raisin bread, which we bought along with some asiago cheese bread (which we didn't get to sample earlier). They are really good. Baylee had lost a shoe, which we discovered in the middle of the bread museum, so I got to go back and retrace our steps, and I luckily found it on a cement bench not too far away from Boudin. After the whole bread experience we decided to stop for lunch.
I thought Baylee would really like The Rainforest Cafe. I thought it would be a fun place for her, and she'd really like looking around in it. I was wrong. They stuck us near the gorillas, and every time they went off she got scared and cried. We got her to calm down when the food came out, but a few minutes later the thunderstorm went off and the gorillas went wild, and she got scared again. We tried to eat fast, and then I took her down to the giftshop area and she had fun looking around, although the talking tree kinda weirded her out. So, once Ben had paid and we took some pictures, we left. After that, we just went and saw the sea lions and walked around the pier and then headed home and relaxed. Later we went to Ben's parents house so Ben could interview his dad for a homework assignment. That was our busy and exciting weekend!

Happy Anniversary! What a fun weekend. I'm jealous of all the amazing things there is to do where you live. I wish we could come and visit and do a few of them!
