Tagged-Home Edition!

Heather got me for my favorite things around my house. This might get a little sarcastic....

My favorite thing about my kitchen- probably my kitchen table. The kitchen itself needs an update and more storage. I love my table though! It even has a cute little bench. I bought it off my mom when we got married.

My favorite thing about my family room-the couches. One is a Cuddlesac couch, and the other is a black one that sits on the floor. I love the cushions, my mom made them, and they are silky oranges and reds. I like the colors in my family room. Oh, and the Hall tile I made. We actually have some cute things on our fireplace mantle.

My favorite thing about my living room- we don't have one. :(

My favorite thing about my laundry room- does the garage count as a laundry room? I guess that the washing machine and dryer can hold a lot of clothes?

My favorite thing about my bedroom- that its actually clean(er)! My favorite thing is probably our bed though. It is so comfy!

My favorite thing about my bathrooms- hmmm... maybe our yummy smelling Bath & Body Works handsoap? Yeah, that's probably the best thing...

My favorite thing about my house- that we don't have to stay in it. As soon as Ben gets a job, we are out of here!!!

We found our house the day before I had Baylee, so we were a little desperate for anything with a backyard where they wouldn't charge us extra for a dog. It's been a good little house though. We are just ready for something new, and hopefully with a little more room.

I tag Katie, Laura, whichever Brooke Heather didn't tag, and whoever else feels inspired to list your favorites.

Look Grandma, It Finally Fits! Well, Almost...

My parents gave Baylee this outift for her birthday almost a year ago. Today is the first day that its been A. close enough to fitting her and 2. warm enough to wear it. So, here it is, mom! She has worn the skirt, and it's actually suppose to be one of those crinkly skirts, but when we washed it I forgot to crinkle it.... This outfit is actually a 12-18 month size (and she can still wear some of her skirts and onesies from last year), but Baylee is a little small, so now she has it to wear this spring/summer instead of last summer. The onesie is still a little big. It's always nice to have clothes for later wear though! So, thanks for the cute clothes, Grandma! Baylee loves them! Oh, and the shirt says "Mom thinks she's in charge!"

And just a cute little story: I was sitting doing my makeup today, and I realized we only have a week and a half until Ben's birthday. So I asked Baylee what we should do for daddy's bday. She says to me "buy daddy something work" and I asked her back "buy him something for work?". "Yeah!" I thought that was kinda funny. Maybe not really to anyone else though....

Our little "Belle"

When Ben & I were engaged, I walked out to my car one day after work to discover a framed scene from "Beauty & the Beast" with a little love note written on the picture where Ben claimed he was the beast and I was the beauty... I don't know how much of that part is true, but it was a cute and unexpected surprise. Then, before I had Baylee, Ben wanted Baylee and I to have matching bathrobes. We already had a little yellow duck one for her, so he bought another one, cut the duck out, and sewed it onto a robe for me (actually I think my mom sewed it on) and gave it to me for my birthday. So, the other robe wouldn't go to waste, my mom found a little piece of Belle fabric to sew onto it and patch it up.

It's no surprise to me that Beauty & the Beast is Baylee's new favorite movie (and we are so glad to have something new to watch instead of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse over and over and over and over...). Everyday when Baylee gets out of the shower she wants her Belle robe on. Even after I am finally able to get her to take it off long enough to put a shirt on, she wants it right back on over her shirt. One day I was doing her hair and was going to put a gold star clip in it. Of course she didn't want the gold one, she wanted the pink that didn't match. I told her that princesses wear gold, and now that she knows Belle wears gold, she always wants a gold star clip in her hair. Shes always talking about princesses wearing gold and Belle's gold dress. She loves to talk about the "Beauty & the Beast" movie all day, and has to watch it at least twice a day. She loves to repeat over and over about the "prince flew", referring to when Beast changes back into the prince, and "Beast mad" or "Beast hurt", and many other parts of the movie. Here's my favorite, though. We also have a "Beauty & the Beast" book from when I was little, and another book of Disney movies with B & the B in it. Anytime she gets to the part where Belle and the Beast dance (in the books or movie), she jumps up and starts trying to immitate. I tried to get her to do it on camera, so here's the best shot I could get:

Baylee usually dances on her toes and sings over and over "and the beast". She also talked Ben into dancing with her the other day, I thought this was too cute and sweet:

We love the joy Baylee brings to our lives and she has a way of keeping us smiling! So there you have our little princess, Belle (but her name is really Baylee).

Things Get Lonely When The Fun Ends

We've had a really busy and fun past couple weekends, but now that the fun has ended and we are back to our empty house, things are kinda lonely. Well, here's what we've been up to:

Two weekends ago we drove down to Missy's to stay for the night on our way to see my family in Arizona. Baylee thought that she should be the driver-that would have worked out real well....
We got to Arizona Friday night and went to lunch with my brother, Scott, who is now living there. My parents got there later that night, but we missed them since it was getting late. We stayed at my cousin Brooke's house. We love staying with her and her family and always wish we could have spent more time with them. Saturday we went to lunch and shopping with my parents, and then my Aunt Patti and Uncle Warren had a BBQ at their house that night, so we also got to see their kids, my grandparents, and my Aunt Melissa, Uncle Doug and their boy Ryan, and ny Uncle Kelly. Ben and Baylee's favorite part was probably swimming in their pool.
Nixon, Ben, and Baylee in the hot tub. Ben convinced Annie and I to later get in too, but only the hot tub. The pool was too cold...

Sunday we were able to go house looking with my parents (who might be moving there and maybe us too) before we left to drive to Ben's sister Jenny's house to stay for a couple nights. Annie came back with us to spend her Spring Break at our house. Baylee was good for all the traveling as long as she could watch her movies. She didn't like the sun being on her though, so we had to improvise to get it off her.
Monday was Disneyland Day!!! We love Disneyland, and Baylee has been talking about it everyday since we went. Missy and her two boys came with us for awhile, and Mike and Laura and Abigail came for a couple of hours in the morning and we saw them again for about an hour again at night. It's fun to be able to have them all come with us to Disneyland. Baylee loves seeing her cousins.Simon, Charlie, and Baylee waiting to go on the Pooh Ride.Annie, Baylee, and me still waiting. (It was actually only like a 5 minute wait)

Later we took the kids to the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room...
Way down there is Charlie, Missy, Simon, Annie, me and Baylee.

When we got to Fantasy Land, Baylee kept talking about wanting to go on Dumbo, but the line was too long. I think she actually thought that the Carousel was Dumbo. She still talks about going on Dumbo, which actually wasn't Dumbo. Poor, confused kid! But she loved the horses!
We went to Toon Town to try to find Minnie, but she was "sleeping" (since we couldn't find her). Ben decided that maybe he needed a work out. It might help if you aren't standing on what you are trying to lift....And we didn't get anymore pictures after that. So, Tuesday we went to lunch and frozen yogurt with Jenny before leaving to come back home. We wish we could have spent more time with everyone, but we had to get back home. We didn't get to see Jenny and her family very much. We love that Ben's sisters let us stay at their house and we loved being able to see them even if it wasn;t very much.

Annie stayed with us last week, so we tried to have a little fun while she was here. We went to a baseball game on Wednesday night, and took her to sushi Friday night (a little tradition we have whenever we see her). Saturday we went and hung out in San Francisco. We took her to Ghiradelli Square, then we walked down to Fisherman's Wharf. We ran out of time, so on our way out we drove by The Palace of Fine Arts, and then down Lombard Street. Sadly, she had to leave Sunday night. Now our house feels empty and lonely with just Baylee and me here during the day. :( Hopfully we will find some more fun soon, although I have a pretty busy week and a ton of things to do, so I shouldn't really have time to be feeling lonely.

Hooray For Warmer Weather!

I am so excited that it is starting to warm up! It is still freezing at night, but the days are warmer and longer. Now that Ben doesn't have school anymore we have been able to do more things when we are both done with work. This week we walked from his parents to Downtown Pleasanton and back twice. I love long walks, and stopping for ice cream at the dairy made them even better! Baylee really enjoys riding in her stroller and loves the ice cream. She is quite the ice cream hog (and I know her outfit is funny-she had a skirt on so I put these pants on her underneath to keep her warm). I'm hoping this is something that we can continue to do, and the fresh air and exercise are great! (Plus it's no secret that Ben and I could both use the exercise.)

I am excited for all the fun things we are going to be able to do now that it's getting warm and I will actually want to be outside again!

It's (Finally) Official!!!

Ben got an email today from Cal State letting him know that he is officially done with school and to look for his degree in the mail (in two months)! Hooray-he's finally done, and he passed all his classes this semester!!! Now we just need to find him a job.....

Well, my plan was to get Ben a Wii for a Graduation/Bday combined present. However, he beat me to it. He has been searching for a Wii for the past few months for his parents. Since we got our tax returns back he's also been talking about wanting one for himself, especially now that he has more free time since he's done with school. I told him I was going to get him one for these two occassions, but he was in Best Buy yesterday and they had five left so he bought himself and his parents one. So, that was the easiest present I've ever given. I didn't have to do anything, but that's just fine by him! He's so excited for his Wii.

So, Happy Graduation and early Birthday, Ben! Hope you like all the hard work I put into getting you this great gift... :) (oh, and I do plan on getting him more presents for his bday)
