Our batteries charged, so I thought I would just post this video of Baylee. It's kinda funny... This is her showing what she does when we whip out the camera to take a picture. One of her favorite words (and foods) is cheese. She is also really into saying hi and bye to everyone and into telling animal sounds. So, here's just a video that's kinda cute:

Not Much Going On
I know it's been a little while since we've posted anything. We just haven't had anything too exciting going on (and you probably already knew this from reading the past few posts). So, just so you know, we are still alive, but we are just being boring and it's been raining a ton (our car makes me nervous in the rain). Most of our time has been spent working (both of us), Ben at school and doing lots of homework, me fighting Baylee to take a nap (or just sleep at all), us looking for cars without too much success, and wasting our time at a couple of dealerships. The search it still on. Also in there somewhere we had Baylee's doctor's appointment for her 18 month checkup (she's pretty little on her charts), a few out to eat dinners (ok a lot-including one at P.F.Chang's where Ben saw some of the A's players), and our nephew Owen's Pine Wood Derby. So, that's what we've been up to. I can't think of much else. And, all of our batteries are dead so I can't add any pictures on.
Tomorrow we are leaving for a trip to southern California, and I'm sure we will have some fun things to write about when we get back! I'll make sure to keep the batteries charged.

Gross Story
Ok, this story is pretty gross....
Yesterday Baylee and I were taking a shower. I had the tub part plugged because she loves playing in the water. So, she's having fun just splashing around and then gets quiet all of the sudden.... So, I look down and she's definetly pushing a little and there are little poop pieces floating all around her side of the shower. Great..... Then Baylee all of the sudden just starts freaking out. I figure its the poop floating around that she's freaking about. I jump out really fast (who wants to stay in a poopy shower anyways?) and get a towel wrapped around me and pull her out. That's when I realize what she's really freaking out about. In the mirror I notice that she's not done. A piece to big for her to push out is stuck. So, I sit her on the toilet and just hold her there. She's still screaming her head off. I'm hugging her and rubbing her back to get her to calm down. She's pushing and pushing, so much and so hard that she throws up all down my back and all over my towel and her stomach and the floor. Yummy... She finally gets it out so I hurry and grab some wipes and wipe her and I both up. I get her a diaper on and just throw her pjs back on her because she's shivering from being cold and wet, and because I know she should probaby have another bath later when Ben's watching her (I had to leave pretty quick for work). I return to the bathroom and find her throw up and some poop water on the toilet seat. So, I get that wiped up, along with the throw up on the floor. I try to rinse the poop in the shower down the drain, but one piece won't go. I wash my feet off in the sink. Ben comes home while I'm trying to rush to get all ready for work. I told him I needed his help and he wasn't going to like it. He cleaned up the rest of the shower for me and didn't complain once (except for jokingly). He also got Baylee another shower while I was working. I was so thankful that he would help me out, and I'm glad that I have a husband that will help clean up poop messes!

It's Official!
Baylee turned 18 months on Saturday! Which means.......
...yesterday was her first official day of Nursery!
She did really well. I stayed in with her for about ten or fifteen mintues and she hardly knew I was there. So, I left and went into the hall to look over my Young Women's lesson (yesterday was also my first day teaching them). They brought her to me in the hall because she fell off a chair and hit her head. She cried for about five minutes and then wanted back into Nursery and I left after about two minutes. I was very surprised since she's kinda a little bit clingy. She had a lot of fun and her leaders told Ben she did great!
Our little Baylee's growing up fast! :(

Baylee's New Puppy
Baylee got a new puppy on Thursday! It's cute and cuddly, and as big as she is!

Thursday we went to Old Navy, and Baylee kept picking up this dog and carrying it around the store with her. With the big sale they had going on it only cost us $4.50, so we got it for her. She was so excited and had a lot of fun carrying around the mall and having it sit with her in her car seat. She loves cuddling with it and putting her blanket on it so he can take a nap.

Play time!
These are just a couple of pictures of Baylee playing from the weekend.
Saturday we went to Ikea and Baylee had a blast going down the slide (and climbing all over the kid beds-looks like we'll be able to put her in her own soon!).
Baylee has a little drum that holds little instruments inside. She decided that she would rather have it hold her instead.

Big Girl!
Let me start by saying that Baylee likes to lift up the toilet seat for us and even will rip off and hand me toilet paper. Friday night she surprised us both by wanting to use the toilet herself. She lifted up the toilet seat and then tried to start taking off her pants and diaper. So, I let her try using it and held her on the seat. She got a little nervous, but she did let out a little tiny pebble (ok, I know that is way gross). I don't know of very many, if any, kids that try to use the toilet at 17 months. It was kinda weird, but funny, and kinda cute.

We made sure to wash her hands afterwards, too.

Bipolar
Our car is seriously bipolar. I've posted before about our car having problems, but today was not a good car day for me. At noon Baylee and I were getting ready to go to a Young Women's lunch (I now work with the Young Women in our church), and what a surprise, the car won't start. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries, so I keep trying. I popped the hood and moved around some wires like Ben does. I tried starting it a few more times, and then gave up, since it had been too long for me to make it to lunch. I was disappointed because I haven't made it to anything outside of Sunday church, and I had Baylee dressed very cute. So, fast forward to 2:30. Baylee is asleep on the cuddlesac, and it's time to go to work. Not wanting to miss work if I don't have to, I go out to see if by some miracle the car is in a better mood and wants to cooperate. Horray! It started right up! So, I get everything together to go to work, strap Baylee into her carseat (waking her up in the process), and back out of the driveway. Suddenly, the car is no longer in a good mood and decides it just would rather hang out right in the middle of the street. It won't start up again, so I got out and pushed it. However, not having anyone to steer for me, I go to stop and the car keeps going and front left tire hits the curb, leaving the car still in the road at a diagnol. So, I try to push it backwards. Too bad I am a wimp and it wouldn't move. It won't move and it won't start so I can move it. What do I do? I call Ben and start to shed a couple of tears in my frustration. He tells me to just leave it, but with our nieghbors I don't want to. So, after trying for about 20-25 minutes, I finally get the car to run enough for me straighten it against the curb, although it's facing the wrong way. So that's where it currently sits. It probably would have made it to work, but I kinda don't trust it right now. I have trust issues.... Ben said I could look for a car online and we can go shopping for one tonight.

Check Out Those Moves!
Baylee can be quite the little dancer! Ben didn't get very much on video, but here's a little sample of some of her showing off some of her "cool moves"!

Happy Holidays, And Now Back to the Real World...
We had such a blast during our two week holiday vacation in Utah! We are sad that we had to come home and start back to our everyday life, and the realization, after it taking half the day to get our car to start, that we are finally going to have to give in and buy a new one. We loved spending time with my family, and we got to see my brother and his family for the first time since Christmas two years ago and meet their newest boy, Luke, who's now 8 months old. We hadn't seen their little girl Claire since she was one, so I don't think she really remembered us too much. We also got to spend some time with my cousin Heather, who married Ben's old roomate, Mat, and see their baby, Ezra, who I missed being born by one day last time we were in Utah for my mom's surprise bday in September. We saw Ben's brother and his wife and their baby, who come into town today, and also had lunch with his sister and her little girl who is a week younger than Baylee, along with Ben's Grandma Hall. We got around. It was a lot of fun, and we did a lot of fun things. Here are a few (actually a lot!) of pictures from our vacation. Sadly, Ben didn't get any pictures of my brother and his family (except for feet and legs), so I'm hoping Katie will send me some from when we got to see them and when we took family pictures.....
Christmas Eve Jim and Katie and kids came over along with Mat and Heather and Ezra. Katie organized games for us, and gave the kids a little prize, too. Baylee loved opening it, and it was perfect-Baylee loves books!
Heather and little Ezra! We had a lot of fun seeing them!
Christmas Eve we exchanged sibling gifts while Jim and Katie were still there, and the grandkids got to open presents from Grandma and Grandpa and uncles/aunts. Baylee even tried to open everyone elses presents. I think that one was for her, though.
I finally found some brown boots that I shipped to my parents house, and Baylee decided to model them.
Christmas Day we got to sleep in until 9:30ish. Scott and Annie got a lot of presents!
Baylee loved opening prosents and was so excited for her Happy Feet movie! Santa didn't bring her much because we are going to take a Disneyland trip instead.
Baylee was excited for her little Disney Princess cars! And every other present she got. She wanted them opened to play with right away.
Baylee helped Grandma open her present from us and Scott and Annie.
We did a lot of shopping while we were there. Baylee wanted to be stylish while riding in the Target cart.
Baylee loved Grandma and Grandpa's kitty cat. She already knew "meow" really well, but now if you ask her what Lilly says, she's added a little hiss into her vocab.
Baylee was excited to show Grandma her Nemo ornament.
We braved the freezing cold and snow and went to see the lights at Temple Square. I love the lights there! It's actually where Ben broke the news to his parents that we were getting married....
We had so much fun with everyone in Utah, and are looking forward to our next vacation to Disneyland either this month or next month! Hopefully Santa didn't really mean to give us a car instead and we can do both! After that we have Spring Training in AZ, Ben's graduation, and possibly a move all in March! Looks like 2008 is going to be a busy year! We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and has a wonderful 2008!
